Freedom Festival Uzhhorod

During the fourth weekend of April (21–23 April), we organized a theatre and music festival in Uzhhorod in the Zakarpattia region. Its aim was to allow children and adults to forget the hardships of war, at least for a while. A total of 20 musicians and theatre ensembles from Ukraine and the Czech Republic performed in 32 shows. The cooperation behind the festival grew out of the shared cultural foundation between the Czech Republic and Ukraine and reminded us of the strong bond between the two countries. The festival was made possible thanks to a grant project of the Ministry of Culture.
